  • Yes, the course curriculum gives you the opportunity to get a Scrum Fundamentals certification, a Full Stack Engineer certificate of completion, and a Spira fundamentals ISP-100 certification. You will also receive a STEM ENRG certificate of completion at the end of your coursework.

  • The program lasts 10 months. Synchronous classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 pm - 8:30 pm EST. (Here’s a helpful link to determine if this works for your timezone.) You will need another 10-15 hours to commit to weekly asynchronous work.

  • To participate in synchronous class, asynchronous learning activities, and complete assignments, you will need:

    • Strong, reliable Internet access.

    • A current Internet browser. (Google Chrome is the recommended browser for our Learning Management System)

    • Access to a working desktop or laptop computer. Our curriculum is incompatible with Chromebooks, tablets, etc. Your desktop or laptop should have the following:

    • A current operating system with updates installed (macOS or Windows).

    • Speakers or headphones to hear lecture presentations and videos.

    • A web cam.

    • At least 500MB of free disk space.

    • 4 core CPU.

    • 8GB of memory.

  • Not at all! We accept people with all levels of experience and work to ensure you are getting the most out of the program.

  • The curriculum covers full-stack software development with an opportunity to specialize based on your assigned capstone project. You will learn languages and technologies for the front end (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back end (e.g. SQL, Node.js) as well as how to connect the two. You will learn about collaborative coding, versioning, and repositories via Git and GitHub. And you will learn important coding activities such as testing and debugging. Most importantly, you will learn how to be an effective tech practitioner through the delivery of your capstone project that runs throughout the duration of the program. It will allow you to apply what you are learning in real-time!

  • All female-identifying people of color are eligible for a scholarship.

  • In the application, there is an option to indicate that you are eligible for a scholarship. During the scholarship application process, you will be asked for a written or video essay and a letter of recommendation. The application will let you know if scholarships are open or not and you are always welcome to come back and apply for future cohorts should you miss a round.
